Rubbing Cloths for Liquid Crystal Panels

Development of Liquid Crystal Panels has been making rapid progress as display system to take the place of television.
Our FINE PUFF Rubbing Cloths have been widely adopted as indispensable materials for rubbing process in Liquid Crystal Panel production, and have completed various types to meet the development of Liquid Crystal industry.
Rubbing process is a process to make the polyimide film, formed on the two glass panels, thin, even and finely oriented, to control the angle and direction of rising up of Liquid Crystal molecules between the glass panels.
It is a mechanical process, but as precise orientation and stable yield are obtained, almost every
Liquid Crystal Panel maker uses this method. After long and continuous improvement to meet various requirements of users, we completed the typical and special FINE PUFF Rubbing Cloths as follows :

1D(Denier) = Diameter of a yarn when it weighs 1 g and is 9000 m long.
  • All types are improved fabrics based on highest quality fabrics for garment, called Velvet.
  • Other special specifications based on the above are available, but not shown above.
  • FINE PUFF Rubbing Cloths can be used for TN, STN, TFT panels.
  • YA-20-R is the most popular type.
  • YA-18-R has finer filament in thicker density than YA-20-R.
  • YA-19-R has the higher thickness than YA-18-R.
  • YA-21-R is a wider fabric of YA-20-R for the larger glass panels.
  • YA-181-R is a modified version of YA-18-R and can be supplied in any width to meet the larger glass panels.
  • YA-25-C has cotton yarn.
  • The Rubbing Cloths can be cut to your requirements.
  • Washed (cleaning processed) cloths can also supplied.

Instructions for use :

  1. Attach Rubbing Cloths on the roller of the rubbing machine with Rubbing Tape (both-sides adhesive tape ). Be careful not to wrap air bubbles in between the Rubbing Cloth and the tape. A special attachment tool will be effective for stable attachment. We supply special Rubbing Tapes.
  2. Rubbing Tape must be attached to the roller with pile angle slanting to match the direction of turning.
  3. Pass the glass panels on the stage through under the turning roller, with a certain pressure to give proper friction.
